MEPs will vote today in what is expected to be the biggest shake-up in the history of the EU's fisheries policy.

Dumping fish is a step closer to being banned

The controversial practice of fisherman dumping dead fish back into the sea - so they don't go over their quotas - is a step closer to being banned. It's after members of the European Parliament voted for a set of reforms to the fisheries policy.

The legislation - that could go through next year is also designed to protect endangered stocks. So, has the news been positively recieved by the regions' fishing fleets - from Westminster - Phil Hornby sends this.
