Clegg's third visit to Eastleigh

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg was in Eastleigh for the third time in a little over a week, backing the party candidate in the by-election. Today he visited the home of Hampshire Cricket - the Ageas Bowl in Eastleigh.

Clegg defends 1,400 homes development

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has been on the campaign trail again today. It's his third visit to the Eastleigh constituency. Mr Clegg joined Hampshire cricketers at the Ageas Bowl to see how development work at the site is progressing.

He also spoke to Meridian, defending the decision by the Liberal Democrat run Eastleigh Borough Council to build 1,400 homes on farmland and a golf course at Boorley Green in Botley. The development has sparked local opposition.
