Honouring ''The Few'' with education centre

An ambitious plan to create a £2.8 million education centre at the national Battle of Britain Memorial in Kent is reaching a key stage. Fundraisers have secured half the cost already and the project is about to go out to tender.

Design to be 'sympathetic' to surroundings

We were asked to design a building that would not dominate this tranquil site but would complement it and provide space for a visitor experience and learning facilities.

"We came up with the idea of using the two halves of the Spitfire wing to house the different elements and were delighted with the Trust's enthusiastic response to the plans.
