A tribute to Sam Medland has been released by her family as her husband faces a murder charge. Mrs Medland died following an incident in Queen Square, Brighton, on Sunday where she was found with stab wounds.
Her mother Amelia Shah said: "My daughter Sam was always a ray of sunshine to those she met. "Her untimely death has touched so many people, including the medical staff who tried to save her life.
"Sam leaves behind mum, dad, her sisters Teresa and Lisa Jo Saphirre and her brother Ali and so many friends.
"She also leaves her niece Rosalie-Jayne and nephew Tyler-Jay. She will be greatly missed by us all."
Ty Medland has been charged with murder and is due to appear in court today.
A man has been charged with his wife's murder.
Ty Medland, 25, of Cavell Avenue, Peacehaven, has been charged with the murder of Samantha Medland, known as Sam, and is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court later.
At around 8.45pm on Sunday police were called to Queen Square following a report that a woman had received serious stab wounds.
Mrs Medland was found at the scene with serious injuries and was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
A post mortem has revealed that Mrs Medland died as a result of multiple stab wounds.
