The discovery of human remains and shoe soles dating back to the 12th century has halted road works. Emergency repairs to Friar Street in Reading Town Centre will now run into the weekend.

Human remains and shoe soles dating back to the 12th century has halted road works in Berkshire. Emergency repairs to Friar Street in Reading will now run into the weekend instead of finishing today. Thames Valley Archaeological Services have confirmed some of the bones date back to the 1100s.
