Police hunt armed robber

Police hunting an armed robber have released a CCTV image of a suspect.

Detective Constable Jonathan Sainsbury, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “This was a very distressing incident for the member of staff.

"I am releasing a CCTV image of a man who may be able to help us with our investigation.

“I would urge the man pictured – and anyone who recognises him – to contact Dorset Police, in confidence, as soon as possible.

“Anyone who witnessed this incident or has information about the man responsible should call police urgently.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 05:492.

Police are hunting a robber who threatened a shop worker with a knife.

Detectives in Poole are appealing for witnesses to the robbery at M & J Stores in Winston Avenue in the Branksome area of the town.

The incident, which happened at around 8.45pm on Tuesday, saw a man demand money from the till before threatening a member of staff with a knife.

He left the scene with a quantity of money.
