A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Hampshire on suspicion of making threats to kill. Police closed a primary school and the B3006 while dealing with the incident.

School to re-open today

Pupils at a Hampshire primary school can return to the their classrooms this afternoon, following the end of a police incident in the local area.

Selbourne C of E Primary School was closed, as was the B3006, while police investigated an incident at a house.

We have just been informed by the police that the incident has been resolved and so we will re-open the school this afternoon at 1pm.If you are able to get you children to school please can you enter by the front entrance.We are sorry for the inconvenience caused."

A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Hampshire on suspicion of making threats to kill.

Police were called to an incident at an address on Selborne Road, Selborne, East Hampshire early on 13th March 2013, due to concerns about a man inside. There was no one else at the property.

The B3006 was closed from its junction with the A31 at Alton and the A3 at Greatham. Due to the proximity of the address, the local primary school was also closed.

A Hampshire school has been closed as the result of a police incident nearby. Selbourne C of E Primary School has released a statement online.

We are sorry that we have had to close the school today, Wednesday 13th March, due to a police incident in the local area. The road to the school is closed. We will update the website when we have any further information."

School closed in police incident

Hampshire Police has posted a statement on its Facebook page saying that a school in the county is closed while it deals with an incident in Selborne.

Police are currently dealing with an incident in Selborne. Motorists are advised to avoid the B3006. The road is completely closed from its junction with the A31 at Alton and the A3 at Greatham. The local primary school is likely to be closed this morning and parents are advised to check through usual channels before setting off. We will update you with more information when we have it."
