Brighton have re-ignited their Championship play-off hopes with a 3-nil win over Crystal Palace at The Amex Stadium.

Gus Poyet's side are now level on points with sixth-placed Leicester City. The Seagulls are trailing by goal difference.

A first half goal from Wayne Rooney was enough to secure a one-nil win over Reading at Old Trafford. It leaves the Royals second from bottom in the Premier League and seven points form safety.

Reading dismissed manager Brian McDermott before the game at Old Trafford.

It's hoped The Royals will announce McDermott's successor before the match against Arsenal on March 30th.

Southampton's crucial win against Liverpool

Southampton move seven points above the Premier League relegation zone with a 3-1 win over Liverpool at St Mary's.

The Saints have beaten Liverpool in four of the last five league games at home.

Southampton gained an impressive win beating Liverpool 3-1 at St Mary's. It puts the Saints 7 points clear of the relegation zone.

Royals Academy manager, Eammon Dolan, is in charge for Reading's trip to Manchester United. It is a late kick-off at 17:30.
