We can confirm that the deceased lady has been formally identified as Deborah Simister of Maple Way, Amesbury. Please also be advised that James Roy Simister who is charged with her murder is now due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on 14th June.
Wiltshire Police have confirm that James Roy Simister, aged 50, of Maple Way, Amesbury has been charged with the murder of a 45 year old woman. He is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court this morning.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a fatally injured woman in Wiltshire.
Police were called to an address in Maple Way, Amesbury, shortly before 10:15pm last night, where they found a 45-year-old woman with serious injuries.
She was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital but later died.
A 49-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, a Wiltshire Police spokeswoman confirmed.
The victim has not yet formally been identified but her next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on later today.
Shortly before 10:15pm yesterday evening, officers were called to an address in Maple Way, Amesbury. Officers were quickly on the scene and a 45 year old woman was located with serious injuries.
She was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital where she sadly died.
Formal identification has not yet taken place but her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist family liaison officers. A Post Mortem Examination will be carried out today.
A 49-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody.
