Tony Grealish, who captained Brighton in the FA Cup final of 1983, has died at the age of 56. Tony is fondly remembered by Brighton fans, and tributes are pouring in today.
In the FA Cup Final, Brighton drew 2-2 with Manchester United, only to lose 4-0 in the replay. As a tribute to Tony we have uploaded an item from May 20 1983 - the day before the Cup Final. Tony is one of several players interviewed for the Coast to Coast programme.
Tony Grealish, the man who led Brighton and Hove Albion out at the FA Cup final against Manchester United in 1983, has died.
He was 56 and had been suffering from cancer. The Irish international played 121 times for the Seagulls and, most famously, was the man chosen by boss Jimmy Melia as stand-in skipper for the cup final.
