A five-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Berkshire yesterday.

“Officers are out in the area today offering reassurance to local residents and I would like to reiterate that incidents of this nature are extremely rare, " added Det Insp Andy Howard.

"At this time we believe this to be an isolated incident.”

Investigating officer Det Insp Andy Howard said: “We are keen to talk to anyone who was in Vulcan Drive yesterday in the early evening and saw anything suspicious.

“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident but are trying to piece together what happened.

“In particular, we would like to speak to a group of youths who were outside at about the time of the incident."

A five-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Berkshire yesterday.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the incident in Vulcan Drive, Bracknell.

Officers were called to reports that a five-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted.

A 68-year-old man was arrested and remains in police custody at this time.
