Twelve people were injured in Sussex today after a bus collided with a car on the A267 at Five Ashes, near Mayfield.

The driver of the car and the bus passengers were taken to hospitals in Brighton and Tunbridge Wells. Four people were said to be seriously injured. The road was closed for several hours.

Emergency services are still at the scene - the A267 junction with Horleigh Green Road - where the road will be closed for some time. Two passengers were seriously injured.
