Elderly man released without charge after wife's death

A 72-year-old man who was being questioned by Kent Police after his wife's death on 25th May 2013, has been has been released without charge. The woman whose name has not been released, was discovered by paramedics at a house on Ripley Road in Willesborough in Ashford on Saturday afternoon.

Kent Police said the woman's death is not considered to be suspicious so officers are are no longer investigating what happened.

A police spokesperson said the matter is now with the coroner to determine the cause of death.


Police say man knew victim

A 72 year old man being questioned by police over the death of a woman, was 'known to the victim', according to officers. The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was found at a property on Ripley Road in Willesborough in Ashford in Kent. Details about how she died have not been disclosed.

Police were called to the address by South East Coast Ambulance Service yesterday just before 12.30pm. Officers remained at the scene as investigations continued.
