A man has died after he was hit by a train in Dorset. He was struck near Hinton Admiral station this morning. The line between Southampton and Bournemouth was closed for several hours.

“Officers from British Transport Police and Dorset Police attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 10.27 hours and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“Medics from South Central Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The train was not carrying any passengers at the time but BTP said it was being moved from a depot to Bournemouth station. Services returned to normal from 1:30pm this afternoon.
