Firefighters say that they are scaling back their operation at a major fire at a laundry in Faversham.
The fire started early this morning.
Residents in Faversham in Kent are being advised to keep their windows and doors closed as more than sixty fire fighters battle to bring a blaze at a commercial laundry under control.
The A251 Ashford Road is closed in Faversham between the A2 Canterbury Road and the M2 junction 6 (Faversham). It's due to a fire at a commercial laundry. 60 firefighters are on the scene and have been there since 4am.
There are reports of a large plum of smoke. There is no exit from the coastbound M2 at junction 6.
More than forty fire crews are trying to bring a blaze at a linen company in Faversham, Kent under control.
Eight crews from across the county and the high aerial platform have been at the scene of the fire since 3:54am.
The fire has closed the Faversham junction onto the M2 and has also closed the A2.
