Appeal for witnesses following M3 crash

Police are continuing their appeal for information after three maintenance workers were injured in a collision on the M3 at Eastleigh. The motorway was closed yesterday (Monday, June 17), after a lorry travelling north collided with three maintenance vehicles between junctions 13 and 12.

A 54-year-old man from Derbyshire remains in a serious condition in hospital. The others, a 41-year-old man from Derbyshire and a 43-year-old Southampton man suffered less serious injuries.

The driver of the articulated lorry, a 58-year-old Birmingham man, was arrested on suspicion of careless driving and bailed until September 24.

Police are appealing for information after three motorway maintenance workers were injured in a collision on the M3. At around 3.10pm today an articulated lorry travelling north was involved in a collision with two small vans and a flat bed lorry between junctions 13 and 12 at Eastleigh.

The vans and the flat bed lorry are motorway maintenance vehicles and were stationary on the hard shoulder at the time. Three men who were working on the hard shoulder were injured, one of them seriously

Heavy traffic on M3 after crash

There is now very slow traffic on M3 Southbound at J12 A335 (Eastleigh) - congestion on Southbound to J11 A3090 (Winchester South). Road was closed for around an hour, Northbound, while the air ambulance attended an accident on the other side of the road.

One lane closed and queueing traffic due to broken down vehicle on M25 clockwise between J5 M26 / A21 (Sevenoaks) and Clacket Lane Services, congestion on M25 Almost to J4 A21 / A224 (Orpington) and on M26 Almost Halfway to J2a A20 (Wrotham).

TRAVEL - ROADS: Delays at Heathrow T4 after accident involving a car and a lorry

Three lanes are closed and there is queueing traffic due to recovery work after an accident involving a car and a van on the M25 anticlockwise at J14 A3113 Airport Way / Horton Road (Heathrow Terminal 4), congestion to J17 A412 (Maple Cross). Travel time is around 110 minutes.

The road was closed before 2am for investigation works. Lanes two, three and four briefly reopened at 05:45, now only lane four remains open.
