A 31-year-old man arrested on Saturday night in connection with the murder of Kevin Wyeth remains in custody.
Officers have been granted a further extension to continue questioning the man until Tuesday, August 27.

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Southampton have released more information about him. 31 year old Kevin Wyeth from Kingsclere Avenue in Southampton, died after being found unconscious in an alleyway. Despite attempts to resuscitate Mr Wyeth he was pronounced dead at the scene at 3am.
A post mortem examination has found the 31 year old died from head and neck injuries. Detectives have released a photograph in an attempt to trace any witnesses who may have seen him on Friday evening or early Saturday morning. A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man’s body in the Woolston area of Southampton this morning. Police were contacted just after 2 o'clock this morning following reports of a man lying unconscious in Defender Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
