A baby who was born with half a heart and was given just a 50 per cent chance of survival has amazed doctors by recovering - thanks to swimming lessons. Charlie Cob, from Brighton, had to undergo open heart surgery just hours after being born.

Even after the surgery he suffered a huge heart attack, underwent two more operations, and was hospitalised countless times after developing infections. But he is now thriving and his mother believes his weekly swimming lessons have been the key to his improvement
