Peter Symonds College are the first ever ski team to have won gold in a national ski competition.

The Winchester College won the mixed team category at the English Schools Ski Associatino National Championships Qualifiers held at Southampton Alpine Centre.

The Winchester College team were amongst 160 racers from 42 schools from across the south.

With a combined time of 67.22 seconds, the Symonds squad won the category as the fourth fastest team.

Coach Pam Hearsum said:

"There were some very strong individual performances from our team on a tricky course that saw alot of missed gates and disqualifications from other competitors - none of our team were disqualified!"
