Cow shot in neck with crossbow

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a cow was injured in Wokingham on Saturday. In Church Lane, Finchampstead, a cow belonging to a farm, was discovered by the owner lying in a field with a crossbow bolt.

Hit by a crossbow but cow now recovering

A farmer has spoken of his horror at discovering how one of his cows had been shot by a crossbow. Alan Bishop found the injured animal on his field at Church Farm in Finchampstead - near Wokingham.

The pedigree cow had been shot in the neck. It survived - and is recovering - but police are investigating the incident. Here's Divya Kohli's report.

Police appeal after cow hit by crossbow

Cow recovering after being hit by crossbow

The incident is believed to have occurred between 9am and 2.15pm on Saturday. I am appealing to anyone with information about the incident to contact Thames Valley Police. The area where the incident occurred is near a road, so if you were driving past around the time and saw something suspicious, please get in touch. The animal has had the bow removed and is currently recovering from its injuries.

The animal, which has a calf, was found lying in a field near Church Farm, Church Lane in Finchamsptead. It has had the bow removed and is currently recovering from its injuries.
