A 25 year old man has been arrested after a cannabis factory was found by fire crews tackling a blaze in Worthing.
Up to thirty fire fighters were at the property on Salisbury Road - when they discovered equipment used to grow the drug. Neighbours say they're "stunned". Charlotte Wilkins Reports.
A neighbour has spoken of her shock, after 30 firefighters attending a fire at flat in Worthing, found a suspected cannabis factory. Crews attended the fire last night in Salisbury Road where they found a large amount of equipment used to grow the drug.
No one was inside at the time of the fire. We spoke to neighbour Sheena Webster.
Police are appealing for witnesses after firefighters discovered a cannabis factory while they were searching for people trapped in a house fire.
The fire started in a property in Salisbury Road, Worthing at 8:30pm last night.
There were reports that people could have still been trapped in the house, which firefighters attended.
When searching the property, they didn't find any one but instead found a cannabis factory set up on the top floor.
Detective Sergeant Colin O'Hare of West Sussex CID said, "We would like to know who has been visiting the address over the last few weeks and months and hope residents can help us."
