Reading lose away to Leicester

It's been an unhappy Boxing Day for Reading. They travelled to Leicester and lost 1-0. Nugent scored from a penalty after 21 minutes.

Easy win for Southampton at Cardiff

Southampton eased to a three-goal victory over troubled Cardiff. Rodriguez scored twice and Lambert added a third, all in the first half. City fans staged a protest before the kick off against the club's owner, Vincent Tan.

Southampton have taken a three goal lead at Cardiff. Rodriguez scored after 14 and 20 minutes. Rickie Lambert added a third after 27 minutes.

Brighton go down fighting at The Valley

A late rally from Brighton failed to salvage a result at Charlton. Scorers for Charlton were Wilson with two goals and Kermorgant. Ulloa scored two for Brighton, including one in the 90th minute.
