Second man dies following Bearsted crash

A second man who was involved in a crash in Bearsted over the weekend has died. Police were called to the A20 Ashford Road in the early hours of Saturday.

A car had hit a tree.

The driver, an 18-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old man, who was travelling in the car as a passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but has died this afternoon.

Teenager killed after his car collides with a tree

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on the A20 in Bearsted in the early hours of this morning. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit were called after 2.15am to a report of a single vehicle collision on Ashford Road.

It was reported a red Ford Ka had left the road before colliding with a tree and landing on its roof back on the carriageway. The driver, an 18 year old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 19 year old man, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to a hospital in London where he remains in a critical condition.

Collision investigators are carrying out a number of enquiries following this incident and would urge any drivers or pedestrians travelling along this road at the time who may have witnessed the collision or the vehicle prior to the incident, to contact us as soon as possible."
