Police are appealing for witnesses after a 2-year-old girl was bitten by a dog in Muscliff.

The toddler was bitten on the face, but only sustained a small injury which required stitches.

The incident happened on Thursday 13th February on Toldpuddle Gardens, outside Rowlands Pharmacy.

Police Constable Dan Smith from Bournemouth police said, "The incident left the victim and her mother very distressed.

"They both approached a light brown dog, believed to be a Beagle, which was tied up outside the pharmacy. While the mother had briefly turned away, the child stroked it and she was bitten."
