Two people believed to be pensioners have died in a single car collision on the A34 southbound in Hampshire.
Police were called just after six thirty this evening. It happened at Three Maids Hill near Upper Bullington.
There are massive queues and major jams as traffic is diverted off the A34 at Sutton Scotney and directed through Winchester. Motorists are being told to expect long delays. The A34 is expected to be closed for much of the night.

Hampshire Police say they received multiple calls about the accident from about 6.38pm this evening. It is not yet clear how many vehicles were involved.
The A34 southbound is closed at Upper Bullington in Hampshire, with queueing traffic due to a serious accident between the A303 (Bullington Cross) and A272. On approach to the Winnall roundabout. Access is still available from the A303 to Sutton Scotney services, but no further.
The road is expected to remain closed well into the evening.
