It was twenty years ago, but for one man from the South, the horrors of the Rwandan genocide still haunt him. Alex Ntung fled the African country when he was a young man and has been living in Sussex ever since.
But as events take place around the world to commemorate the atrocity in which 800 thousand people were killed - Alex has been remembering those he lost. As Charlotte Wilkins reports.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Rwanda genocide - which saw the death of more than 800,000 people.
We look at those in our region who were affected by the tragedy, which was sparked after a plane carrying the country's President was shot down, killing everyone on the plane.
Here, we speak to Alex Ntun who has been living in Sussex since he left Rwanda when he was young.
