Nearly 200 cruise passengers were awarded several hundred thousand pounds payout after illness spread across the ship.
Passengers complained that the toilets on the ship were blocked and food was served lukewarm.
Elizabeth Tetzner, a travel law expert, said: "A number of the passengers that suffered illness suffered from symptoms such as stomach cramps, diarrhoea, vomiting and lethargy."
The pay-out relates to a period between December 2009 and June 2010 with destinations including Morocco, Gibraltar and Las Palmas.
Collette Ellis from Fareham in Hampshire booked a two-week cruise to celebrate Christmas but her holiday was ruined by the illness suffered onboard.
