MP Roger Gale has reacted angrily to the failure of Manston's owner to accept the latest bid for the airport.
Mr Gale said that Ann Gloag turned down the improved offer from aviation investors Riveroak on the basis that it was submitted too late, and that she claimed, many staff had already found jobs.
Mr Gale said "It is not correct that most of the staff at Manston have other jobs. There is no legal reason why they should not carry on working and most of them want to go on working there."
"We have a buyer who is reputable, let's have a deal done".
The latest offer to buy Manston Airport has been rejected.
American aviation investor Riveroak had made an improved offer yesterday.
The airport's owner is said to have rejected it on the grounds that the bid was submitted too late and, she claims, many of the staff have already found new jobs.
Ann Gloag rejected the bid just minutes after the Prime Minister told the commons that the government would do everything they can to help keep Manston open.
The MP for Thanet North, Sir Roger Gale, has asked the Prime Minister to step in to save Manston airport, which is due to close tomorrow. Listen to David Cameron's response.
