British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after four men were assaulted during a fight on board a train at Southampton Central railway station. The incident began on board the 10:58pm Romsey to Southampton service on Monday, May 12.

Detective Sergeant Dave Peek, leading the investigation, said: “At approximately 11.15pm a fight broke out on board the train at Southampton Central railway station. This spilt onto the platform while the train was waiting at the station.!

He added: “Four people were assaulted, including three members of railway staff. One member of staff was left with a broken nose and the train guard and driver were also attacked.”
