Police said James Dunham, 34, of no fixed address, was arrested at an address in Lydd, Kent, on Friday 23 May, and appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court the same day, on a warrant for failing to appear at court.

Dunham had pleaded guilty to a charge of inciting a girl under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity on 9th January 2014 but walked out of Lewes Crown Court after being released on bail to discuss the case with his solicitor in the court building.

The offence happened in Heathfield in January 2012 and involved a teenage girl who knew Dunham. He was arrested on 23 May as a result of a call from a member of the public, and the public are thanked for their assistance.
