Man killed after thrown from his car in collision

A man in his 30s has died after he was thrown from his vehicle after a collision between a car and a van in Swindon. Two other men were hurt, including a man in his 20s who is in a critical condition.

A man in his 30s has died after he was thrown from his vehicle after a collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a red van in Swindon. Officers are currently in the process of contacting his next of kin. The collision happened at 6.30am today on Thamesdown Drive, Swindon near to ASDA Walmart.

Another man in his 20s was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon and is in a critical condition. A third man in his 50s,was removed from a vehicle as he was initially trapped. He was then taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary and is a stable condition.

The road is closed in both directions and is likely to remain closed for some time whilst investigators are on the scene. Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. They have been taken to Gablecross police station.
