Three cyclists injured in hit and run

Three cyclists were injured in a hit and run in Kent last night.

The collision happened just after 10pm on the A2 coastbound just before the Bridge turn off near Canterbury.

Three cyclists were reported to have collided with a vehicle which then left the scene.

Two men aged 24 and 25 from Cumbria and a 24-year-old man from South Derbyshire were injured.

Their injuries are not life threatening. One was flown to Kings College Hospital in London, the other two were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

A section of the coastbound carriageway was closed temporarily so that the air ambulance could land. It reopened just before midnight.
