Thousands of people have gathered for a parade and service in Bicester to bid farewell to a regiment that has been part of the town for 70 years.

About 150 troops from 23 Pioneer Regiment, based at St David's Barracks, were joined by members of the public at St Edburg's Church for a special service.

The regiment is being disbanded in the Autumn due to the reduction of the Army.
