Police say it's lucky no one was killed when a huge tree fell across a busy road in Southampton during this morning's rush hour and onto the roof of a house.
The 100 foot pine tree crashed across Cobden Avenue in Bitterne just before 8am and onto two cars parked in a driveway - one of them a brand new Mercedes.
The road has been closed all day as tree surgeons cleared the debris. Rachel Hepworth went to see the damage:

Tree surgeons have been trying to remove the 100ft pine from Cobden Avenue in Southampton, which crushed two vehicles including a brand new Mercedes.
The road has been closed all day as tree surgeons clear the debris.

Cobden Avenue in Southampton is closed in both directions. There is heavy traffic because of a large tree which has fallen and crushed at least two cars between Midanbury Lane and Cobbett Road. The road could stay closed for much of the day.
