An opera singer has become the first person in the country to be given two artificial knees - thanks to revolutionary 3D printing technology. Paula Anglin from Hove, in Sussex, was forced to stop performing on stage when her arthritis became severe. But she now has new knees, modelled on her own. Detailed x-rays were sent to the United States where 3D printers created an exact copy.
We're used to having scanners and printers in our homes. But what about being able to print something in three dimensions? The technology is becoming more widely available and people in Brighton are getting the chance to try it out. Malcolm Shaw reports.
