The trial of a man accused of murdering his wife at their family home in Oxfordshire is expected to start.

Andrew Parsons allegedly stabbed his wife Janee at their house in Lucerne Avenue, Bicester.

The 38-year-old denied murder at Oxford Crown Court in February, and will stand trial at the same court.

American-born Mrs Parsons was found by police after they were called to the detached home last December.

Despite attempts by officers and ambulance staff to resuscitate her, the 31-year-old was declared dead at hospital.

A post-mortem examination found the mother of two died from multiple stab wounds.

Body found in search for missing man

Police searching for a missing 92 year old man have found a body.

Andrew Parsons from Freshwater on the Isle of Wight had been missing since Thursday morning.

An officer involved in the search made the discovery at 9.20am this morning (Friday) near the shoreline in the Compton Bay area.

Formal identification of the body and a post-mortem examination will take place in the next few days. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Isle of Wight District Chief Inspector Nick Heelan said: “Although formal identification of the body cannot be completed at this time, police are stopping their search for Mr Parsons. Officers will remain in contact with his family to offer support for their welfare."
