Man arrested after victim left with fractured skull

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after another man was found with a head injury in Bampton.

The man from Minster Lovell was arrested in connection with the injury in Pembroke Place on the 28th May.

The man was assaulted in Market Squaren in Bampton between 4am and 8am.

The 33-year-old victim was helped by a member of the public before paramedics arrived and took him to Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

He required surgery and has since been transferred to Witney Community Hospital while awaiting further surgery.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for anyone with information about the incident to call 101.

Downton's costumes take centre stage

It's one of the most popular period dramas of all time. ITV's Downton Abbey is essential viewing for millions of people. It is, of course, filmed in the South.

And it's in Oxfordshire - at Bampton - where the Downton fashions of yesteryear are on display at a special exhibition at the arts centre. Heather Edwards has been along to see it.

Man assaulted in Bampton

A man in his 60s was assaulted in Bampton, Oxfordshire as he was walking home.

The incident happened at around 12.45pm on Tuesday 13th August on Cote Road in Aston.

The victim was pushed from behind, which caused him to fall onto his face.

He sustained grazes to his face but did not catch sight of his attacker.

Anyone with information should contact Banbury police on 101.

Police appeal for witnesses

Police officers investigating a fatal crash between a motorbike and a Nissan 4x4 have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Investigating officer Sergwant Wayne Mills, of the Roads Policing Department based in Bicester, is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact him on 101.

One person killed and two injured

A man died and two people were injured in a crash involving a motorbike and a car in Oxfordshire.

At about 3.25pm on 1st June 2013, the motorbike and a Nissan X-Trail 4x4 collided on Station Road, Bampton.

The man riding the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he later died from his injuries.

A man and a woman in the Nissan suffered minor injuries in the collision. The woman was taken to Witney Community Hospital with an arm injury.

Thames Valley Police has appealed for witnesses.
