A man from Bournemouth has been found guilty of murdering his niece whom he was also in a relationship with.
Christopher Wall, aged 58 and of Shelbourne Road, was convicted, following a 12-day trial at Winchester Crown Court.
In December last year, police were called to reports of a woman who had been found with head injuries outside the Charminster Supermarket in Charminster Road.
She was taken to hospital with a serious brain injury but later died.
The jury heard that, while Christopher and Hayley Wall were uncle and niece, they were living together as partners.
On Tuesday 13th December 2016, officers found blood-stained clothing and blood smears in the bedroom and bathroom.
Christopher Wall was asleep in the bed and had what appeared to be stab or puncture wounds in his back as well as a cut to his hand.
An ambulance was called and he was treated for his injuries.
He was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and, after being treated in hospital, was taken into custody.

Detectives are investigating after shots were fired at a property in Bournemouth.
At 12.30am yesterday Dorset Police received a report that two men attended a property on Wimborne Road and woke up the occupants by throwing stones at the window.
When the occupants got up to look, it was then reported that gun shots were fired at a window.
The men left the scene in a car. No one was injured.
Two men aged 24, two men aged 22 and a 23-year-old man, all from the Liverpool area, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
One of the 24-year-old men was further arrested on suspicion of threats to kill.
All five men have now been released under investigation.
A cordon was in place to allow detectives to carry out a full examination of the scene.
Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team will be carrying out patrols in the area in the coming days and can be approached with any community concerns.
It is reported that this was a targeted incident and the men arrived at the property in search of someone who was not at the address."

Two men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Bournemouth.
Officers were called to Old Christchurch Road just after 6:30am.
The victim a local man aged 18 was reportedly approached from behind by an unknown man and slashed to the neck with a sharp bladed item.
He sustained a serious cut to his neck and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been released.
Armed officers, and officers from the dog section searched the area.
Two local men aged 56 and 59 were arrested at an address in Bournemouth on suspicion of attempted murder.

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being found with head injuries in Bournemouth.
Police were called to Durley Gardens at 11.56pm yesterday.
The man is aged in his 40s and from Poole.
A cordon is currently in place down the road as officers examine the scene.

Police investigating an attempted robbery in Bournemouth have released a CCTV image of the suspect.
A man entered Tesco Express on Wimborne Road on Wednesday 10th May at around 11pm and queued up at the till.
He asked to buy some Rizla cigarette papers however during the transaction he grabbed at the open till.
A staff member and a member of the public pulled the man away before he fled the store.
Nothing was stolen although the till was damaged during the incident.
The suspect is described as white, aged in his 30s, 5ft 9' tall and of medium build.
He had short dark brown hair with a receding hairline, goatee beard and stubble.
He was wearing a dark green hooded jacket in an anorak type material with the hood up.
