Man found with head injuries in Bournemouth

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being found with head injuries in Bournemouth.

Police were called to Durley Gardens at 11.56pm yesterday.

The man is aged in his 40s and from Poole.

A cordon is currently in place down the road as officers examine the scene.

CCTV released after attempted robbery

Police investigating an attempted robbery in Bournemouth have released a CCTV image of the suspect.

A man entered Tesco Express on Wimborne Road on Wednesday 10th May at around 11pm and queued up at the till.

He asked to buy some Rizla cigarette papers however during the transaction he grabbed at the open till.

A staff member and a member of the public pulled the man away before he fled the store.

Nothing was stolen although the till was damaged during the incident.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his 30s, 5ft 9' tall and of medium build.

He had short dark brown hair with a receding hairline, goatee beard and stubble.

He was wearing a dark green hooded jacket in an anorak type material with the hood up.

As part of my investigation I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of the suspect. I would urge anyone who recognises this man to please contact Dorset Police.”

Murder investigation after woman found in pond

A murder investigation has begun after a woman was found dead in a pond in Bournemouth.

Officers were called to Northey Road just after 10pm on 26th May to find a 56 year old woman unresponsive.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, her next of kin have been told.

A post-mortem examination found the woman died as a result of drowning.

A 68 year old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released under investigation.

It is thought the man and woman knew one another.

We are still trying to find out exactly what happened on Friday evening and are making a number of enquiries and working closely with the coroner."

"At this stage, it is unclear how the woman drowned and therefore we have to treat the incident as suspicious. However, we hope that our investigation will soon establish whether this is or is not the case."

Man arrested for false imprisonment of teenage boys

A man has been arrested after two boys were allegedly assaulted and held against their will in Bournemouth.

The boys, both aged 17, were cycling along Ringwood Road last Thursday at around 10.30pm, when they were dragged to the ground by two men.

They were then taken to an undisclosed address and held for a period of time before being released.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and false imprisonment and has been released under investigation.

This was an unusual incident and enquiries are underway to establish what happened. I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Ringwood Road between 10.30pm and 11pm on Thursday and saw or heard anything suspicious or unusual to please contact Dorset Police.

Police appeal to find town centre sex attacker

Officers investigating a sexual assault on a woman in Bournemouth have released an e-fit of the suspect and are urging anyone who recognises him to come forward.

A woman had been sitting on a bench in Westover Road, close to The Stables, when she was approached by an unknown man, at 4.40pm on Saturday 18th March.

The suspect made several sexual comments towards her before grabbing her face with both of his hands and using force to kiss her on the lips.

He then left the area without saying anything.

The victim – a local woman aged in her 30s – was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as aged in his 40s, of Middle-Eastern appearance, medium build and with short dark receding hair which was combed back. He wore a black jacket, dark blue shirt with white emblems on it, a gold watch and sunglasses.

Concern for woman who left house in night clothes

There are concerns for the welfare of a missing 67-year-old Bournemouth woman who left her home in the middle of the night

Jean Lea is believed to have left her home address on Meadow View Road shortly before 3am this morning, wearing her night clothes.

She is described as white, five feet eight inches tall and of slim build. She has short blonde-coloured hair.

Dorset Police are particularly concerned as Jean has been getting increasingly confused recently.

Police fears for Bournemouth woman missing without medication

Police in Dorset are appealing for the public’s help to find a woman who has gone missing from Bournemouth.

Gillian Greenwood, 59, left her address in Wellington Road sometime between 2pm and 3pm on Friday 17 March stating she was going to the hairdressers.

The last confirmed sighting of her was outside Creams on Charminster Road at around 3.30pm the same day. She has not been seen since.

Gillian requires medication for an existing condition and officers are now becoming increasingly concerned for her as she did not take the medication with her.

She is described as white, five feet two inches tall, with long black hair. She was wearing dark-coloured jeans, a black jacket and was carrying a large brown handbag.
