Police have named a man who died when his 4x4 vehicle crashed with a lorry at the junction of the A303 and A30 at Bullington Cross last Thursday morning.
He is Alexander Ridge, age 40, of Union Street, Farnborough. Mr Ridge died at the scene.
His family released the following tribute:
“Alex was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather brother and uncle. He had an amazing ability to see the best in everyone and always tried to help anyone in need. He will be desperately missed by his whole family and all his many friends.”
Hampshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a car came off the A34 at Bullington Cross and overturned onto its side. The blue Ford Mondeo was being driven by a 25-year-old man from Birmingham. It came off the carriageway, became airborne and landed on its roof on the slip road beneath the A34
It happened at around 5.40am this morning. The driver was freed from the car by firefighters. He is in Southampton General Hospital being treated for life threatening injuries to his head and spine. His condition is critical, but stable.
