Reading Council has come up with a radical scheme aimed at giving back free travel on buses to the elderly and disabled around the clock.
Money raised from fines from motorists caught in bus lanes will be used to fund the free travel scheme axed last year.
Last April the council was forced to make changes that meant travel was free only after 0930. It had previously been free at all times of the day.
From Monday, free travel will be allowed from 0900.The council say it plans to extend the scheme to all times of the day as soon as practicable.
