Bournemouth cliff collapse - Fears for our coastline

After months of winter storms a cliff has collapsed on one of the region's most popular beaches.

Last night, more than 60ft of cliff face collapsed onto Bournemouth seafront between Bournemouth Pier and Boscombe Pier, just yards from the East Cliff lift.

The debris blocked the promenade and emergency crews used heatseeking cameras to make sure no-one was trapped.

It comes as the National Trust today warned some parts of our coastline has suffered years of erosion in just a few weeks. Martin Dowse reports.
