An elderly woman has been injured in an accident involving a bin lorry in Berkshire. The lorry was carrying out manoeuvre in Station Road at Cookham when it collided with a wall. This collapsed onto the woman who was passing by.
The woman, who is in her 70s, was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious leg injuries. The road was closed for several hours while police carried out investigations.
Investigating Officer, PC Ian Collins of Roads Policing based at Taplow, said: “We are looking for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward so we can establish the full circumstances of what has happened."
The A4094 Sutton Road at Cookham in Berkshire is closed in both directions due to flooding between B4447 High Street and Sheephouse Road. Extensive flooding on the mains routes in the area.
