Should we watch funerals online?
Weddings have been celebrated online for some time, and now Portsmouth City Council has announced plans to allow mourners to watch proceedings at Portchester Crematorium online. Fred and Sangeeta report.
Hospice helped by cremation donation
Metals sensitively retrieved to be recycled have helped a crematorium to raise funds for a Reading hospice.
West Berkshire Crematorium joined a not-for-profit recycling scheme to which they donate any metals and implants which remain after a cremation.
Money raised through the recycling goes to charities. Families of loved ones who have been cremated at crematorium, near Thatcham, are asked to give consent to the scheme.
A spokesman for the crematorium said: "These metals are sensitively removed following each cremation and are sent for recycling on a not-for-profit basis.
"Annually, we receive funds arising from the sale of these metals, which we donate to deserving local registered charities."
