Now, in Brighton and Hove, a campaign has been launched to warn cyclists that bus drivers often struggle to see them.
That's because there are large blind-spots round their vehicles, as Malcolm Shaw reports.

It happened shortly after 8am on Winchester Road at it’s junction with Forest Road and Curdridge Lane. Officers have closed the road while they investigate the circumstances of what happened.

A Bournemouth cyclist who knocked down a young girl has been sent to jail for 12 months.
On 25th November 2013 at Bournemouth Crown Court, Philip Douglas Benwell, who is 38-years-old, pleaded guilty to committing grievous bodily harm.
The court heard evidence that Benwell rode through a red light and hit a nine-year-old girl on 26th July 2013 along Pinecliff Road by the entrance to Branksome Beach.
He then picked up his bike and left the scene.

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on the A299 Thanet Way at Broomfield near Herne Bay.
A cyclist involved in a collision with a small lorry on the London-bound carriageway opposite the former Roman Galley public House, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The London-bound carriageway of Thanet Way was closed from the roundabout at St Nicholas at Wade while the emergency services dealt with the incident. The road was re-opened at 3.40 pm.

A cyclist injured in a crash with a car in Dorchester has been left with a serious arm injury.
Now police are appealing for the car driver, who initially stopped to help the 59 year-old man, to come forward. Doctors say he will need an operation on his elbow.
