A man from East Dulwich has been jailed after being found guilty of possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply.
Christopher Asante, 25, of Landcroft Road, East Dulwich, appeared before Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, 14 March 2014 where he was sentenced to 4-years behind bars for the offence.
Asante claimed the crack cocaine was for his personal use but the prosecution was able to prove that he was travelling from London to Gillingham to sell the class-A drug.
Police stopped Asante at 9.25pm on Friday, 23 October 2013 in Richmond Road, Gillingham, he was searched and arrested.
Whilst travelling to the police station he admitted being in possession of herbal cannabis hidden in his sock and gave it to the officers who seized it. A search of Asante at Medway police station located ten wraps of crack cocaine which had an estimated street value of over £200.
