Cameron campaigns in Eastleigh again

The Prime Minister David Cameron is in Eastleigh for the second time this week, campaigning in the upcoming by-election. The PM was holding a question and answer session with workers at Prysmian in the town. He was there to support Conservative candidate Maria Hutchings.

Clegg defends 1,400 homes development

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has been on the campaign trail again today. It's his third visit to the Eastleigh constituency. Mr Clegg joined Hampshire cricketers at the Ageas Bowl to see how development work at the site is progressing.

He also spoke to Meridian, defending the decision by the Liberal Democrat run Eastleigh Borough Council to build 1,400 homes on farmland and a golf course at Boorley Green in Botley. The development has sparked local opposition.

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg pitched up for his third visit to Eastleigh in little over a week as the clock ticks down the by-election on February 28. Today he visited the home of Hampshire cricket - the Ageas Bowl in Eastleigh - to show his support for the party candidate.
