The Wight Crew, a team of seven Isle of Wight women who completed a 27.6 mile rowing challenge in an effort to fundraise for charity, officially presented cheques for their chosen charities.

The Isle of Wight based charity the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust received £15,000.

The team also raised another £15,000 for the charity that organised the row, Ahoy, who help young people from a disadvantaged background get involved in water based activities.

They raised the money over 9 months with the long row and a gala dinner.

The row took a total of 7 hours, rowing from Dover along the coast to Dymchurch and back.

The Wight Crew members are Dee Oswald, Rowan Middleton-Leal, Sam Hampton, Vicki Haworth, Caroline Death, Bonnie Williams and Jo Grindley.
