The world's largest offshore yacht race began today in the Solent. More than 300 boats from 20 nations are competing in the 611-mile Fastnet Race, which started in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Hannah Costigan reports.

More than three-hundred-and-forty yachts are preparing for the 2013 Fastnet sailing race from Cowes on the Isle of Wight to Plymouth via the Fastnet rock in South-West Ireland.
The 611 mile race takes place every two years.
