A member of the sea shanty group Fisherman's Friends who was seriously injured in a freak accident which also killed the band's tour manager has died in hospital, it was announced today.
A door fell on the pair just hours before their concert at the G Live venue in Guildford on Saturday.
A second man has died after a door fell on him at a music venue in Guildford at the weekend. Fisherman's Friends singer Trevor Grills suffered critical injuries when the accident happened at 'G Live' late on Saturday night.
The 54 year old from Port Isaac in Cornwall died late last night at St George's Hospital in Tooting. The band's tour manager Paul McMullen was declared dead at the scene. Surrey Police is investigating the incident with the assistance of the Health and Safety Executive.
In a statement, the band paid tribute to Mr Grills as "a much-loved and valued friend". A spokesman added: "We are all devastated."
