Knit one, pearl one for a new world record

Knitted bunting has arrived by the bag load from around the world Credit: Woman's Weekly

A woman's magazine will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest string of knitted bunting on Monday 8 July in Tunbridge Wells.

More than 900 readers from all over the world including have been knitting furiously to help the quest, creating more than 3.2km of bunting.

For it to be verified as a Guinness World Record, the bunting needs to be hung. The bunting will be hung at Tunbridge Wells based book publisher and distributor Search Press and can be viewed by the public between 2pm and 5pm.
